Aim Athlete Chats: Kate Logsdon

It’s postseason time for our Aim high school athletes, and we wanted to share a little inside scoop about them as they hit the field for playoffs in the 41st Midwest Field Hockey State Tournament.  Next up is U19 Athlete, Kate Logsdon.

Kate Logsdon is a junior forward on the reigning state champion John Burroughs School field hockey team, and she has been a member of the Aim Field Hockey Family for over 10 years. She leads the Bombers in goals (24) and game winning goals (6). Kate has a relentless energy in the circle, playing with a mindset that the ball is not coming out until it goes into the cage. She hopes to bring this energy, connection and fun into every game of the state tournament for her squad.

“What I love most about my team this year is our connectedness on and off the field,” Kate said. “We are all great friends and it really feels like one big family who loves being with each other. I really like that we are able to be focused and work hard, but we never sacrifice having fun and laughing with each other.”

As she looks ahead to the next game of postseason play, she has her team’s concrete goal before her with every play she makes: winning another state championship. She knows this entire tournament will be high sakes, but she knows her team will fight their hardest to keep playing in the next game.

Kate and her Bombers take the field this afternoon for their quarterfinal game against Kirkwood at 2pm at Sportport. She cannot wait to see how they continue to connect on the field in order to achieve their season goal. And, she has one message for her team ahead of today.

“To my team: We have worked so hard since the very first day of preseason to get to where we are today. I am so proud of each and every one of us, so let’s put all of what we have out on the field and bring home a win for each other!”

Good luck, Kate! Keep up the hard work with your team in the tournament. Stay tuned for more stories about our high school athletes throughout the entirety of the state tournament.
