Winter 2025-26 Club General Information

Don't let your field hockey passion hibernate during the off-season!

The Winter Club season holds immense value for the growth of both individual players and the team as a whole. We firmly believe that our Club athletes can maximize their progress by engaging in our 2-3 weekly winter sessions, seamlessly transitioning their training to the dynamic setting of an indoor turf surface. In our quest for excellence, we are proud to offer our Club athletes the most comprehensive training hours, ensuring that they are equipped with the skills and experience needed to excel in the sport.

Within this indoor setting, our Club athletes will sharpen their outdoor game skills. The focus will be on honing:

  • Elevating stickwork, ensuring an abundance of ball touches.
  • Mastery of the foundational techniques that form the bedrock of the sport.
  • Navigating tighter spaces, honing decision-making abilities and spatial awareness, and fostering heightened engagement.
  • Elevating their proficiency with advanced skills such as reverse chips, drags, 3D maneuvers, and the art of deception.
  • Focusing on goal-scoring strategies, both on and off the ball, while refining positioning, communication, and teamwork to foster excellence.

We do not hold formal tryouts for our Club teams, as we feel there is a place for every athlete who wants to develop their skills and advance their game. Our coaches will evaluate all athletes within the first two to three sessions and place them on a team that is a good fit for the season.

AGE GROUP DETAILS

U8 (JR) CLUB

The winter season is an important time for our younger athletes to continue developing their skills while also putting them into practice in a game setting.  This winter, the U8/Junior Club and U10 age groups will gather for 7 weeks of Club training as well as play in our Elementary League.  This will ensure that they continue to elevate their fundamentals while working with our high-level Club coaching staff and also have the opportunity to put those skills to work in small-sided games.  It also condenses the season to ensure engagement without burnout.  As always, our U8/U10 program will emphasize both on-field skill AND character...teaching even our youngest athletes to overcome limitations, build leadership skills, illustrate discipline, value teamwork, and understand commitment.
