Winter 2024-2025 Club General Information
Don't let your field hockey passion hibernate during the off-season!
The Winter Club season holds immense value for the growth of both individual players and the team as a whole. We firmly believe that our Club athletes can maximize their progress by engaging in our 2-3 weekly winter sessions, seamlessly transitioning their training to the dynamic setting of an indoor turf surface. In our quest for excellence, we are proud to offer our Club athletes the most comprehensive training hours, ensuring that they are equipped with the skills and experience needed to excel in the sport.
Within this indoor setting, our Club athletes will sharpen their outdoor game skills. The focus will be on honing:
- Elevating stickwork, ensuring an abundance of ball touches.
- Mastery of the foundational techniques that form the bedrock of the sport.
- Navigating tighter spaces, honing decision-making abilities and spatial awareness, and fostering heightened engagement.
- Elevating their proficiency with advanced skills such as reverse chips, drags, 3D maneuvers, and the art of deception.
- Focusing on goal-scoring strategies, both on and off the ball, while refining positioning, communication, and teamwork to foster excellence.
We do not hold formal tryouts for our Club teams, as we feel there is a place for every athlete who wants to develop their skills and advance their game. Our coaches will evaluate all athletes within the first two to three sessions and place them on a team that is a good fit for the season.

winter 2024-2025 AGE GROUP info
U10 CLUB (born 8/1/2014 or later)
The winter season is an important time for our younger athletes to continue developing their skills while also putting them into practice in a game setting. This winter, the U10 age group (and Junior Club athletes) will gather for 7 weeks of Club training as well as play in our Elementary League. This will ensure that they continue to elevate their fundamentals while working with our high-level Club coaching staff and also have the opportunity to put those skills to work in small-sided games. It also condenses the season to ensure engagement without burnout. As always, our U10 program will emphasize both on-field skill AND character...teaching even our youngest athletes to overcome limitations, build leadership skills, illustrate discipline, value teamwork, and understand commitment.
Junior Club athletes are encouraged to register for U10 Club this winter, as the experience will be most similar to fall Junior Club. Of course just playing League is an option as well. Junior Club will return as a stand-alone program in the spring.

Annual Membership Registration
There is no Annual Membership option for U10 at this time; we will offer it again in Fall 2025.
Practices
Club Training: Wednesdays, January 8 - February 19, from 5:30-7 pm
League Games: Saturdays, January 18-February 22, either 10-11 am or 11 am-12 noon (depending on grade)
Uniforms/Equipment
During the winter, the only uniform requirement is the practice pinnie, so wonly new U10 athletes will be charged for this. There are no additional uniform requirements in the winter. Athletes must come to every practice with their pinnie, shin guards and a mouth guard. Uniforms/Equipment
For the winter season, our registration approach for new athletes differs slightly due to the limited game opportunities. Uniforms are not included when registering a la carte; however, they are part of the annual registration fees. If a new athlete participates in a tournament, they will need to purchase a full uniform. Returning athletes, on the other hand, do not have any new uniform requirements.
All athletes must come prepared with their Royal Blue/White Aim Reversible Pinnie to every practice. New athletes will receive their practice pinnie on the first night of the season. Additionally, for safety on the field, athletes are required to have shin guards and mouth guards.
We highly recommend turf shoes (please refer to the gear tab for recommendations) since cleats are not permitted on the Center St. Louis turf. If you ever find yourself without a stick, don't worry – we have plenty of sticks available for borrowing!
