Outstanding Showing at Shooting Star Tournament

It was an outstanding weekend of high-level competition for all three Aim teams at the annual Shooting Star Tournament this past weekend!  Aim took one U12, U14 and U16 team, and all were placed in highly competitive pools. All three teams performed well and all three teams were in contention for first place going into the final game.  This made for a dramatic finish!  Our U12 team won their pool, and our U14 and U16 teams came in second in theirs (in pools A & B) with our U16 team finishing undefeated.  Overall, Aim lost only 2 of 15 games during the whole tournament…this is outstanding!

In addition to a fantastic record, one of the most gratifying aspects of the tournament was seeing the confidence, composure, poise and unity that characterized our athletes throughout the weekend.  With college coaches lining the sidelines and top-notch competitors squaring off against us, Aim rose to the challenge!  Coaches Lauren, Kelsey and Sofi were inspired by these girls.

As Lauren shared: “We hope the girls and families feel the cycle of inspiration which flows from the coaches to the girls and the girls to the coaches (in that order and the reverse order).  It’s ever-active.  A fun ecosystem with a group of loyal, committed, hardworking, team-oriented, mentally strong, classy and talented people.  Across the board, the girls did a great job of fulfilling the idea of focusing on what they could bring to the team rather than seeking what the team will do for them.  Everyone contributed greatly to the bigger picture and did it so selflessly, graciously, and fearlessly!”

This tournament will be remembered as one of the best Thanksgiving weekend competitions in several years.  Thank you parents for your support and sacrifice, and congrats to all 3 Aim teams!
