Aim Athlete Q&A: Cora Chandra Reflects on U12 Orange NIT Victory

In our next Aim Athlete Chat, we did a Q&A with Cora Chandra after her most recent trip to National Indoor Tournament with the U12 Orange Team. The team recently returned from Spooky Nook Sports Complex in Lancaster, PA, where they finished in first place in their pool with a 4-1 record. Cora had a great time along with her teammates and shared her enthusiasm for the trip and first place finish in her answers to us!

How was the tournament, and what did you enjoy most?

The tournament was so cool. It was just as amazing as it was last year but even more! I really enjoyed the sights, sounds and overall quickness of the game. I also enjoyed spending lots of time with my friends and getting closer to them each game we played.

What do you love most about the indoor game?

I love how fun, loud, and fast-paced indoor is. I also love how you are always down low, and the possibility of getting that perfect lifted shot.

What skill do you enjoy working on most in indoor?

My lifted shot because I work on it as much as possible and a goal made by a lifted shot is a dream come true in my mind. I think it is a super fun skill to have.

How do you feel after the first place finish?

I feel so amazing. I feel like our team can do anything because last year we lost every game, and this year we won the entire bracket. That really shows me you can do anything if you put your mind to it!

What is your favorite thing about Aim, why?

My favorite thing about Aim is the coaches because they are so nice and they really do care about each and every player’s careers, even if field hockey is a temporary sport for them. They also can seriously improve any player’s skills. I also love the friends I make when playing. It is just so cool to have someone to tell about your favorite sport, especially if you don’t have many people doing it with you from school. Everyone is so supportive and they care for and complement you. I wouldn’t want to play for any other team.
