Aim Athlete Chats: Bri Miller
We are so excited to have our Aim high school athletes back with us for winter season! With the Thanksgiving holiday approaching, that also means we hit the road for out of town tournaments like Shooting Star this upcoming weekend in Virginia. In this next Aim athlete chat, we will hear from U19 Goalkeeper Bri Miller, who will be playing on the U19 Orange team for the tournament.
Bri is a junior goalkeeper from Edwardsville High School, and she is coming off of a stellar season with the Tigers on their Varsity team. Now back at Aim, she is busy preparing with the U19 Orange team for the upcoming Shooting Star Tournament.
As a goalkeeper, Bri is an agile player – making efficient saves, decisive dives and maintaining strong footwork inside the circle. She also is well known by her teammates and coaches for her continuous drive to win and dedication to persevere no matter what the score is on the scoreboard. Her success has only continued to grow and develop since joining Aim.
“I love the Aim environment, everyone here has the same goals and practices are fun and productive,” Bri said. “It’s nice to play with people who want to succeed and play past high school, and I think that and the coaches motivate us all a lot. I love the challenge of playing at the level I play at it really is fun always to be learning.
In addition, she loves that Aim provides exclusive goalkeeper training to not only strengthen her skills, but also connect with goalkeepers of all ages at the club.
“The training program has helped me learn and refine technics and things to work on outside of practice,” Bri said “We also get to work with other goalies at those trainings and we all help each other.”
As the Shooting Star Tournament and goalkeeping showcase gets closer, she is excited to improve her skills, connect with her teammates, and play against great competition.
“I love getting to travel and play in different areas against different teams,” Bri said. “I think we will do pretty well as a lot of prep work has been going on and sets us up nicely. We all know what to do, how to play together and I think we’re a really strong team!”
Good luck, Bri! We look forward to seeing you make great saves and command the field with your teammates. Read more of our Aim Athlete stories on our news section of our website.
