Aim Athlete Chats: Annie Tilghman
We are so excited to have our Aim high school athletes back with us for winter season! With the Thanksgiving holiday approaching, that also means we hit the road for out of town tournaments like Shooting Star this upcoming weekend in Virginia. In this next Aim athlete chat, we will hear from U16 athlete Annie Tilghman, who will be playing on the U16 Orange team for the tournament.
Annie is a sophomore at Ladue Watkins Senior High School, and she was a force of speed and agility on the Rams’ forward line this past season. She brings a postitive attitude and a willingness to work hard into every game she plays. After playing with Aim for a few seasons, she has come to admire the intensity and dedication that the club embodies.
“Aim’s team environment pushes me to be not only a better player but also a better person—both on and off the field,” Annie said. “The commitment to excellence motivates me to strive for personal growth every day.”
Ahead of Shooting Star, the U16 Orange team has spent time breaking down the game into smaller more focused moments, maintaining high energy, and team bonding. They recently returned from a successful weekend against fellow Louisville clubs teams where they got to put their practice into action, and the U16s came away with a 3-1 record weekend over four games played. Annie said she is looking forward to what is to come for the team at Shooting Star.
“I’m looking forward to the challenge of playing against some good competition, and also, getting to do it with my teammates,” she said. “I’m excited to showcase how we’ve grown as a team and see how we can rise to the occasion.”
Annie and her team take the field in their first game of the Shooting Star Tournament on Friday, and she is excited to see what she and her teammates are capable of. And. she has one message to her team before they hit the road.
“We had a strong start in Louisville, and now it’s time to build on that momentum! Let’s stay focused and take it one win at a time. As a team, we will be able to accomplish anything.”
Good luck, Annie! We cannot wait to see how you and your teammates shine at Shooting Star! To view other stories, please visit our news tab on our website.
