Aim Adventures to the Sunshine State for the 2024 Sunshine Showcase

7 Aim teams returned to St. Louis after a weekend of growth, grit and success at the 2024 Sunshine Showcase hosted at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. It was a fantastic event full of strong hockey, great competition and immense teamwork from our U12, U14, U16 and U19 teams. There was a high-level of success, including our U19 Orange team finishing in the top 8 out of 72 teams, our U12 Orange team taking first in their bracket, and our U14 Orange and U19 Blue teams finishing 3rd in their respective brackets.

Check out the recaps from our Sunshine Showcase coaching staff!

U12 Orange, coached by Mary Pogue

U12 Aim Orange played with incredible grit, connection, enthusiasm and fire this weekend. They grew with each game — taking what we talked about on the bench and implementing it into their play. They ended the weekend 4-2, scoring 26 goals in six games. I am so proud of each and every one of these girls for staying focused and bringing home a gold medal in their bracket!

U14 Orange, coached by Kelsey Eisenbeis

U14 Aim Orange had an inspiring tournament where team connections, work ethic and growth were displayed throughout. This team only allowed four goals the entire tournament, and played as a lock down unit defensively. A great first weekend together as a team where we rose to the challenge and competed at a high level.

U14 Blue, coached by Caroline Farroll

U14 Aim Blue learned so much over this weekend and improved with each and every game. With many players new to the 11v11 game, the team persevered through multiple tough losses, but they always came to the next match ready to play and grow in skill. The girls came together as a team working to uplift each other throughout the weekend. Every player became more skilled and more confident by the end of the tournament. They enjoyed the experience and are eager to continue with our winter season.

U16 Orange, coached by Lauren Cornthwaite

U16 Aim Orange came ready to compete! They had a strong start in our pool play and earned 3rd place medals for their bracket. Scoring 14 goals total and only allowing 4 goals against, they played smart and skilled hockey!

U16 Blue, coached by Sofi Salvatore

U16 Aim Blue experienced much growth over the weekend; individuals grew in skill and collectively they learned how to constantly support and work together. We were greatly challenged and had tough close games. We’re looking forward to implementing what we’ve learned and coming back stronger next year!

U19 Orange, coached by Casey McGowan

A strong showing for our U19 Aim Orange team! The team played phenomenal, high-level hockey both as a unit and individually. Their speed on the ball and decision-making on defense are two key things that led to their success. Dominant pool play secured their 3rd-ranked spot in the top flight. With 26 goals and only 3 against, the team finished in the top 8 out of 72 teams. Excited for what’s ahead!

U19 Blue, coached by Meredith Wood

U19 Aim Blue exemplified perseverance, grit, and truly came together as a team this tournament! They secured their 3rd place bracket slot with 1-0 win, with no subs. It was great to see high level hockey, smart skills, and discipline where it counted. This team grew and improved with every game and they were a blast to coach!
