Aim Athlete Chats: Molly Stutte
It’s postseason time for our Aim high school athletes, and we wanted to share a little inside scoop about them as they hit the field for playoffs in the 41st Midwest Field Hockey State Tournament. Next up is U19 Athlete, Molly Stutte.
Molly is a senior on the Cor Jesu Academy field hockey team, and has been a member of the Varsity sqaud since her freshman season. She leads her team and co-leads the St. Louis region in goals with 29, and she ranks in the top 5 players for assists (18) throughout the region.
As a key playmaker for the Chargers and their senior captain, she hopes to bring her determination, competitiveness, and strong leadership skills to the field as they head into quarterfinals play. Better yet, she is excited to showcase how much her team has grown throughout this season.
“I have loved how my team has progressed throughout the season,” Molly said. “Our hard work is starting to show through right before playoffs, and I seriously feel as though we have gotten better after every single game this season. With that, we have learned a lot from our games, and it is awesome to see us starting to apply it.”
Molly has been a member of the Aim Field Hockey Family since she was a young athlete. From her U10 days to now as an Indiana University commit for next Fall, she credits Aim with helping her prepare to be her best this season and in season’s past.
“Aim always has prepared me to be my best, she said. “This includes preparing me for high school season with knowledge of the game that I can bring to my Cor Jesu team.”
With their quarterfinal game set for today at 7:15pm at Sportport, Molly is excited to see what her Chargers will bring to the field as they inch closer to their goal of making the state final. She always gets excited for the state tournament each year because it brings her team closer and its a blast to play in. She has one message for her team as they take the field today:
“Everything that has happened in the regular season doesn’t matter anymore, and anything can happen in playoffs, so let’s play to win (and upset some people)!”
Good luck, Molly! We cannot wait to watch you rock it in the tournament and lead your team. Stay tuned for more stories about our high school athletes throughout the entirety of the state tournament.
