U16 Orange and Blue Compete at NIT

This past weekend, Aim traveled with two U16 teams, Orange and Blue, to the National Indoor Tournament (NIT) at the Spooky Nook in Lancaster, PA. Both teams earned a spot at this competitive tournament at the Louisville Qualifier in January.  At the NIT, teams are placed into pools and all teams play 5 games throughout the weekend.  Tournament games were held from Friday through Sunday evening. Aim took the court for their first games late in the evening Friday (9:15pm and 10:00pm). Both teams put up a fight: Orange started strong, defeating Majestyx FHC Black 9-2; Blue had a close game, losing 1-3 to Coyotes Pink. With each game, players improved their game play both individually and collectively.  The Orange team had a great taste of success, coming so close to earning a first place finish in its pool.  Orange finished with a 3-2 record overall.  The Blue team ended with a record of 0-5, losing some close games and battling to the end.

During down time, both teams had the opportunity to be challenged mentally and come together as a unit at “Escape. On Queen” where both teams successfully escaped their rooms within the hour time frame. It was a great team bonding experience and tons of fun! If you ever find yourself in Lancaster, PA, go check them out (Escape. On Queen).
